8. Matt Thompson
Matt Thompson

Matthew Thompson slotted into left back in 2006/07. Despite being right footed he excelled in the position due to his stamina and pace. He has a very good long and short passing game, can take players on and is a good crosser of the ball. Makes great runs from behind the opposition’s line of defence. Matt scored a wonder goal against Central Coast Mariners in leg 2 of the 2005/06 Hyundai A-League semi finals last year and showed his perchant for the spectacular in Round 20 of the 2006/07 Season with a contender for goal of the year against Perth.
