Delivered in conjunction with the Newcastle Knights and Newcastle Jets, the Aurizon Rail Safety Program has been developed to deliver key rail safety messages to primary school children throughout the Newcastle and Hunter region.
The Newcastle Knights and Jets will visit 30 local schools per year with the Rail Safety Program, reaching over 4000 primary school students.
Each Aurizon Rail Safety school visit incorporates a safety presentation, participation prizes and a gift for each student and teacher.
The interactive DVD presentation features ambassadors James McManus (Knights) and Michael Bridges (Jets), along with some Aurizon train drivers. It aims to educate students on how to stay safe around rail lines and at rail crossings as well as the dangers associated with getting too close to trains.
