The search is on again for the Hunter’s most talented young performers.
The search is on again for the Hunter-s most talented young hip hop funk and break dancers, aged 5-17 years to form the Newcastle United Jets Dance Squad for the 2010/11 season!
Auditions will be held at Newcastle United Sports Club, Adamstown on Saturday 3rd July from 12:00pm.
The squad form an integral part of the Jets match day. Performing at all home games and cheering their team on from reserved Bombers seating in the Western Grandstand.
In addition, the Bombers perform at Jets fan days and functions throughout the season.
Now in its fifth year, the Jets Bombers Squad is undertaking a new look for the 2010/11 season, and we are starting early looking for the Hunters most enthusiastic and energetic dancers!
The squad is now split into four distinct age groups, all with their own individual costumes and age appropriate dance routines:
-Lil Hornets- Aged 4-7 years
-Jet Pilots- aged 8-12 years
-The Rockettes- aged 13- 16 years
-Cabin Crew- Advanced hip hop and break dancers aged 14-17 years.
Next season, the Bombers will open proceedings on match day with their specialised hip hop routines, that have been crowd favourites for the last four seasons, and are excited to be delivering a new half time programme, with a series of themed half time routines, in conjunction with other Hunter entertainment groups.
All successful squad members will also receive a specially designed uniform as well as one adult General Admission season pass for a parent or guardian.
The squad is under the direction of specialist hip hop choreographer Ishtar Morosi. Ishtar has taught extensively in both Newcastle and Sydney and has worked under many of the world-s top choreographers. She has worked alongside members of the “So You Think You Can Dance” choreography team, and brings a raw, edgy and up-to-the-minute hip hop style to the squad.
