Bridges out for the season

Striker Michael Bridges has been ruled out of the remainder of the season due to a Quadriceps injury which he picked up at training.

Newcastle Jets striker Michael Bridges has today undergone scans which have revealed a tear in the Rectus femoris muscle of his right leg.

The former England youth international suffered the injury during yesterday-s training session at Newcastle University, and is now expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the season.

The injury that Bridges has sustained will not require surgery at this stage, but still involves a 6 week recovery period.

Bridges will therefore miss this Saturday evening-s Hyundai A-League Semi-Final against Gold Coast United to be played at Skilled Park.
