Under the guidance of Gary van Egmond, Jeremy Brockie is going from strength to strength.

Since arriving in Newcastle coach Gary van Egmond has worked tirelessly to bring the best out of the team and a player going from strength to strength under his guidance is New Zealand born striker Jeremy Brockie.

“The first couple of games we were a little bit lost but we have been working really hard in training and we are gelling together on the pitch now which is important,” Brockie said.

“We are picking up points and can only get stronger as time goes by.”

One area of improvement Brockie is working on at training is his fitness.

“I am adapting to the way Gary wants us to play and I need to put in the hard work at training so I can get the miles out of my legs,” he explained.

“I am pretty happy with my form, I am playing a lot better at home than away, so it is something I am going to try and turn around this week.”

The Newcastle Jets will travel to the Central Coast on Saturday for the F3 derby and Brockie is looking forward the challenge.

“We got one up on them earlier this season and they won-t be letting us off easily this weekend,” the 25-year-old added.

“They have been in pretty good form but we can take a lot of confidence out of game on the weekend and there is not reason we can-t go down there and bring the three points back for our Members and supporters.

“It is going to be a good game and hopefully all the Members and supporters can get down the road and support us.”
