Club thanks the generosity of supporters

Over $11,000 was raised for the Queensland Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal by Newcastle Jets fans.

The Newcastle Jets would like to thank all of the club-s valued supporters for their generous donations to the Queensland Premier-s Disaster Relief Appeal.

On January 16, the Jets took on their greatest rivals, the Central Coast Mariners, and before the game the people of the Hunter banded together to show the type of community spirit that this great region has been built upon.

Patrons on matchday were given the opportunity to donate whatever they could to help out those effected by the floods north of the border, and in total $11,430.45 was raised for the cause.

The entire Hyundai A-League has pushed its support behind the appeal, as week 24 of the season was dubbed “Flood Relief Round”. In all, the work done by Football Federation Australia, the Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League has raised in excess of $300,000.00.

In addition to the generous spirit of the Newcastle people, the club would also like to recognise the efforts of the Jets- playing group, who have vowed to donate from their own pockets for the next four weeks to help the victims of the devastating floods.

Once again, thank you for your generosity.
