Gary van Egmond’s weekly update; and his hope to bring the New Year in with a win at Ausgrid Stadium.

On behalf of the players and coaching staff of the Newcastle Jets, I hope all of our Members had a happy and safe Christmas.

New Year is next, and with it the chance for a new start; to the year and I hope our away form run.
The less I focus on the match against Wellington, the better.

Suffice to say you will see a team take to the field on Saturday who will stand tall and proud and scrimmage for every ball. They have done some soul searching this week and will make you proud to call us Novocastrians.

We have trained hard this week. The boys came to training on Boxing Day, with not a complaint made by one of them. We are united, we are one and it-s time for us to show that on the field.

This league is tight, anyone can beat anyone and this week our target is Perth and then four days later it-s the Gold Coast.

I want to call on each of our wonderful and loyal members to come out and support the team. We need each and every one of you this week and I promise you we will repay your support with the performance of a true Newcastle side.

Nothing less is acceptable for our Members and supporters, and indeed the Hunter community.

I wish you a very Happy New Year and hope to start your celebration off with a win over the Glory.

See you Saturday from 4pm!

Gary
