Cortnee Vine is your Newcastle Jets Westfield W-League 2018/19 Golden Boot winner.

Across her ten games this season, she managed to bag four goals in what was a breakout season for the young attacker.

The 21-year-old scored her first of the season – and of her Westfield W-League career – against Melbourne Victory in Round 2.

Vine made a superb run beyond the defence, reading the intentions of target-woman Katie Stengel to receive a slick ball through which the youngster finished confidently.

The next goal of her four this season came against Canberra United – and what an incredible strike it was.

Deep into first-half injury time, Vine hit the ball the outside of her foot on the half-volley from outside the area, her second in as many games and an eventual game-winner for the Jets.

It took some time for her another goal to arrive, but it was a special one when it did finally come around.

At home to Perth Glory in Round 11, Newcastle had a 2-1 lead with the minutes ticking into injury time – that was before Cortnee Vine received the ball just inside the opposition half.

She weaved her way through the defence, before firing off a shot which the Perth ‘keeper could only deflect into goal to hand the Jets attacker her third of the season.

Her fourth and final goal of the season was Newcastle’s final goal of the season – a superb finish to make the score 4-1 against the Western Sydney Wanderers.
