In another positive move for the Newcastle Jets, Executive Chairman Ken Edwards has this afternoon announced Head Coach Branko Culina will continue in the top job until March 2015.
In another positive move for the Newcastle Jets, Executive Chairman Ken Edwards has this afternoon announced Head Coach Branko Culina will continue in the top job until March 2015.
“The Club is ecstatic Branko has agreed to continue at the helm. We are excited about the plans Branko has to engage with the local football community; from coach the coach sessions, through to community liaison,” said Mr Edwards.
“We are confident that we have the best Coach for the Club and he will certainly continue to make the Hunter proud of their football team,” he said.
Branko is so confident about the future of the Jets, he will be moving his home and family permanently to the Hunter over the coming months.
“Ken and his team have brought a breath of fresh air to this Club, and it is terrific for me personally to have certainty and confidence from the new franchise to take this team to the next level,” said Branko.
“I am excited for football, not only in the Hunter, but in general and I am looking forward to the enormous challenge this now presents to build a great team and more importantly a great club.”
“I have a lot of faith, confidence and belief in this team and I am genuinely more excited than I have ever been about their potential,” he said.
Jets Captain Michael Bridges feels a sense of elation at today-s news.
“The past few weeks show the seriousness and intent of the new owners and they are certainly looking to go forward for both the Club and the community in a positive manner,” he said.
“I know this announcement today will offer some certainty of future for the boys and it-s a fantastic positive stride. I certainly wish Branko the best for the coming four and a half years,” he said.
