Despite only being in his mid-twenties, Daniel Mullen has amassed extensive Hyundai A-League experience since making his professional debut for his hometown club Adelaide United in 2008. Mullen, who joined the Jets in early 2015, has played for three of Newcastle’s A-League rivals in the past – Melbourne Victory, Western Sydney Wanderers, and Adelaide. Central defender Mullen also spent a period of his career in the Chinese Super League with Dalian Aerbin, and won the 2014 AFC Champions League with Wanderers. A former Australian youth international, Mullen has one senior Socceroos appearance to his name – that achieved in 2011 AFC Asian Cup Qualifying against Kuwait in Canberra.
