Newcastle Jets can confirm that Ivan Vujica’s contract has been mutually terminated with the defender set to pursue an opportunity at another Hyundai A-League club.
The full back made 48 appearances for the Jets after making his Club debut in Round 1 of the Hyundai A-League 2016/17 season.
Vujica thanked the Jets fans for their support during his time in Newcastle.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time playing for the Jets in front of the Newcastle fans, they always made me feel welcome and I want to thank them for that,” he said.
“Newcastle is a city I love, the people have always been fantastic to me, it’s a great playing group and I’d like to wish everyone at the Club the best of luck in the upcoming season.”
Jets boss, Ernie Merrick thanked the defender for his service to the Club.
“Ivan is a top professional and has been a terrific servant to the Jets,” Merrick said.
“Unfortunately we weren’t able to offer Ivan the guaranteed game time he wants, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
