Van Egmond and Jets’ Korean import, Song Jin-hyung, both fronted the media yesterday at Steelyard Stadium. Song, returning this evening from an ankle injury which has kept him out of action for the past 5 months, spoke in his native Korean.
Song, along with fellow players on the comeback, Jobe Wheelhouse and Donny de Groot, has completed every training session since the team has been in Pohang and is likely to play a pivotal role for the Jets this evening.
The Jets will become only the second Australian team to play in the knockout stage of the AFC Champions League when they take on Pohang Steelers tonight at Steelyard Stadium. Kick-off for this clash is set for 20:30 AEST.
