E-League: A resounding Round 1 result

Undefeated in our first four E-League matches, domination from Fweshest and ground-breaking from N8 Liz – what a shame it wasn’t for competition points.

Round 1 of the E-League started with technical difficulties, meaning that the Ultimate Team setups which competitors had been working on ahead of the season weren’t able to be used.

Instead, a series of exhibition games were played with corresponding Hyundai A-League sides and it made good viewing for Jets fans.

With simultaneous gameplay this season adding to the excitement, Fweshest was the first feature match for the Jets, taking on Adelaide substitute vDreaMz-Shooter on the PS4.

The new Jets signing got the job done in a big way – 4-0 over his opponent – while N8 Liz shocked the stream by coming from behind to claim a monumental 2-1 win over E-League veteran, FUTWIZ Jamie.

It meant that the Jets took a 6-1 aggregate lead into the second leg, and despite some worrying signs early on, the lead wasn’t one which would be lost.

Down 1-0 at half-time in the second leg, and 2-0 shortly after, Fweshest came from behind to secure a 2-2 draw.

N8 Liz fought hard and ground out a 1-0 win over FUTWIZ Jamie, who was playing an all-out attack 4-2-4, to secure the double in her first ever E-League outing.

It meant that on their first matchday competing together, Fweshest and N8 Liz stormed home to an incredible 9-3 aggregate win.

With the competitive side of the fixtures to be rescheduled, next week we’ll take on Melbourne Victory and the might of Sarge_FIFA on PS4, and mozwed on Xbox.
