Elrich inspires junior Jets
Fan favourite visits the Football Fun Clinics.
Children attending the Newcastle Jets- Football Fun Clinics have had a wonderful surprise with perennial fan favourite Tarek Elrich making a special visit to Smith Park, Hamilton this morning.
Despite being on a rare off-season break, Elrich took time out to meet with kids, sign autographs and even have a kick around with participants, creating smiles all round.
The 23-year-old right wingback played through pain during the past Hyundai A-League season, but has recently undergone surgery on his injured groin and is expected to be fighting fit when the Jets embark on their pre-season training regime.
Meanwhile, the April edition of the clinics have been another success with around 100 children between the ages of 6-12 learning skills and going through football drills run by the Jets- team of qualified coaches. The clinic was postponed on Wednesday due to poor weather, and as such will now conclude next Monday with a fun round-robin competition. Elrich and his Jets teammates will resume pre-season training on Monday, 3 May.
