Emerging Jets player Cameron Joice has been granted a scholarship to attend the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) as part of the organisation-s prestigious football program.

Joyce was a member of the U-16 Emerging Jets squad that competed in the U-19 NBN State League competition last winter, while he has also spent time with the Jets- National Youth League squad this season.

Joice featured for the Joeys at the AFC U-16 Championship Qualifiers in August last year.

Jets youth team coach James Pascoe said that Joice-s scholarship offer from the AIS was fantastic news for the player and the entire Emerging Jets program.

“It-s a credit to Cameron and all the coaches who have worked with him along the way,” Pascoe said.

“To have a local product come through the program and receive this type of recognition is great news for the Emerging Jets.

“Cameron plays in the front third and is a terrific athlete with good instincts when it comes to creating and finishing goal scoring opportunities.

“He can threaten in behind, but is also comfortable receiving the ball to feet.”

The Newcastle Jets wish Cameron all the best during his time at the Australian Institute of Sport.
