Playing in the U12 State Youth League Grand Final, the U11 Emerging Jets Boys defeated the Newcastle Football Bombers in a nerve-wracking penalty shootout.
After the scores remained deadlocked at 1-1 at the end of extra time, the Emerging Jets won the ensuing penalty shootout 4-2 to secure the title.
Playing in the U13 State Youth League Grand Final, the U12 Emerging Jets also required extra time to defeat the Newcastle Football Mustangs 2-1.
With the scores level at 1-1 at the end of normal time, the Emerging Jets scored the deciding goal with less than five minutes remaining in extra time to notch a dramatic win.
Playing in the U14 Zone Metro League Grand Final, the U13 Emerging Jets were never headed as they put in a comprehensive performance to secure a 3-0 win over Newcastle Football.
Meanwhile, the U18 Emerging Jets boys were knocked out of U23 NBN State League Finals after going down 5-1 to Edgeworth Eagles FC in their Preliminary Final.
The weekend’s results wrap-up what has been a stellar first year for the Emerging Jets program, which also saw the U15 Emerging Jets Girls winning their Grand Final last weekend.
