The Newcastle Jets are pleased to advise Matilda Emily Van Egmond has agreed to terms to join the W-League squad.
Van Egmond-s signing adds to the already impressive squad, including German dual World Cup-winner Ariane Hingst, Matildas captain Melissa Barbieri and Australian striker Lisa De Vanna as well as Young Matildas Nicola Bolger, Alanna Kennedy and Linda O-Neill from Sydney.
Van Egmond comes to the Jets from Canberra United, and Coach Clayton Zane looks forward to the midfielder joining the squad.
“We are delighted to welcome Emily into the Newcastle Jet's family,” Zane said.
“Having come through the development squads in our area she is a product of the system who has progressed through to become a full international.
“Although still young in age she provides our squad with a wealth of experience and talent and she will complement Tara Andrews and Lisa DeVanna in our attack.
“Emily's strong links to Newcastle cemented her decision to join us and she will be the final piece in the puzzle for our 2011/12 season.”
