With Harry Kewell’s Melbourne Victory set to arrive this weekend, the Jets are expecting a bumper crowd to come out on Saturday night.

Not since the arrival of David Beckham-s LA Galaxy has there been such hype surrounding a football team-s visit to Ausgrid Stadium and with Harry Kewell-s Melbourne Victory set to arrive this weekend, the Jets are expecting a bumper crowd to come out on Saturday night.

“I am sure we will get a big crowd here at Ausgrid Stadium on Saturday, not only to support the Jets but because Harry is playing here,” Gary van Egmond said.

“I am confident we will have a large crowd, if not the largest we have seen this season.”

One of Australia-s most famous exports, Kewell made a name for himself on an international scale and after playing in the English Premier League, returned to Australia to play in the A-League.

While the Jets are very aware of all that he can offer, van Egmond says the team are not focusing solely on Kewell but the threat the entire Victory team brings.

“Harry is a class player, he can score goals and brings players in and sets things up,” he explained.

“He has good vision, a lovely left foot and we have to be aware of that, especially the combination he has with Archie (Thompson), Carlos (Hernandez) and young Rojas.

“We are not just focusing on Harry but he is definitely a big part of it.”

One difficult aspect in the Jets preparations for Saturday-s game is the fact that Victory changes their game plan from week to week.

“They change and chop a lot,” the coach said.

“If we limit their time on the ball, their service will be limited and the pressure will force them to make mistakes.

“We feel last week-s game was a missed opportunity and our analysis showed that there a few areas that we need to get better and the boys are focused on that.”
