The Jets have a short turnaround and according to Ryan Griffiths, that is a good thing after Friday night’s defeat.

The Hunter Ports Newcastle Jets don’t have long to dwell on their 1-0 loss to Wellington Phoenix on Friday night, with the team travelling to Bathurst on Monday, ahead of their Wednesday night’s regional game against Adelaide United.

“It is a short turnaround and in football terms that is a good thing because you really try and pick yourself up as quickly as possible and try and win that game on Wednesday night,” Ryan Griffiths said in the post match media conference.

Assessing the Phoenix loss, the Jets stand-in captain was disappointed the Jets couldn’t convert their first half chances.

“I felt in the first half we did a good job and there were chances, I should have buried one and there was a couple of boys who should of scored,” he said.

“In the second half it was a bit hard to find that ball and it did force us to try and move around and break them down.”

The Jets have a challenging three games ahead; which starts this Wednesday against Adelaide United in Bathurst then away to Brisbane and Sydney FC.
