Following a free ticket offer in the lead up to their first home game, the Newcastle Jets can confirm that in excess of 6,500 tickets have been redeemed as part of their latest promotion.

The match against Perth Glory, kicking off 5pm this Sunday will be the Jets’ first at McDonald Jones Stadium for the 2017/18 Hyundai A-League season.

CEO, Lawrie McKinna said the take up from the Newcastle community had been unbelievable.

“The aim of this promotion was to get people to the game to see how enjoyable an afternoon at McDonald Jones Stadium can be,” said Mr McKinna.

“It’s a fantastic ground to watch football and with the attendance we anticipate, the atmosphere will be absolutely class.

“We want people to feel part of the club, see what’s on offer and hopefully come back to another game, or take up membership and come on the journey with us for this season.

“We’ve recruited well, had a strong pre-season and a great start to the year which hopefully the boys can build on this Sunday.”
