The Jets’ epic exhibition against David Beckham’s LA Galaxy side has been awarded the Hunter’s best Sporting Event of 2010.
The star-studded occasion that was the Newcastle Jets vs LA Galaxy match in November 2010 has officially been named the Sporting Event of the Year at the Newcastle Sports Awards.
Held at Wests Leagues Club in front of some of the Hunter-s most talented sporting identities, the club was recognised for bringing football superstar David Beckham and his MLS teammates to the region.
“It-s fantastic to accept an award such this on behalf of the club,” said Jets- Membership & Commercial Dicerector Richard Fisk.
“There-s no doubt that the game against the Galaxy was a fantastic night for the Hunter Valley community, and we look forward to celebrating many more similarly special events in the near future.”
