Emile Heskey’s scan on Tuesday confirmed a minor tear, which will sideline him for a minimum of one week.

Emile Heskey has a torn calf muscle and will miss Friday night’s home game against Perth Glory at Hunter Stadium.

He was sent for scans on Tuesday after injuring his calf at training on Monday. The scan confirmed a minor tear, which will sideline him for a minimum of one week.

“Emile had scans today which has revealed a small tear in his soleous (deep calf muscle),” Physiotherapist Robert Dingle said.

“This will rule Emile out for Friday-s game and we will reassess him next week for his availability to play against Adelaide.”

Heskey suffered the injury during a light training session with his teammates on Monday.

“The cork he suffered against Wellington wouldn-t have kept him out of the Victory game,” Dingle added.

“It was an unfortunate injury to sustain at training but he has already commenced rehabilitation work and will work hard to be back as soon as possible.”
