The Newcastle Jets will play the Western Sydney Wanderers for the first time in Saturday’s Member-only trial match.
The Hunter Ports Newcastle Jets will play the Western Sydney Wanderers for the first time in Saturday-s Member-only trial match at Wanderers Oval, Broadmeadow.
The new-look Jets outfit will be looking to maintain their undefeated run so far this pre-season against a Wanderers team featuring no less than six former Newcastle players.
After a strong showing as a back three against Sydney FC last week, Jets recruits Scott Neville, Josh Mitchell and Dominik Ritter will be out to prove their worth in the heart of the Jets defence.
They are likely to be tested by a Wanderers forward line including former Jets Labinot Haliti and Mark Bridge.
Meanwhile, down the other end of the field, the Jets forward line, lead by Ryan Griffiths will be aiming to get the better of ex-Newcastle players Tarek Elrich, Nikloai Topor-Stanley and goalkeeper Ante Covic.

Members are required to show their 2012/13 Membership card to gain entry to this event. For those Members that have only recently joined, the Jets Membership team will be on hand at a marquee at the main entrance to assist you to enter the ground.

• Post match team introduction and interviews with coaching staff and players representing the A-League, Youth League and W-League sides
• Post match autograph session
• Jumping castle, face painting and an appearance by Jetman
• Food and drinks available for purchase
HOW TO GET TO THE GAME
Train : Take a train to Broadmeadow station, located a short walk from Wanderers Oval.
Drive: Limited parking is available at Wanderers Oval. Parking costs $3 and is operated by the Lions Club.
