The Hunter Ports Newcastle Jets will kick off their 2012/13 campaign with a home match against Adelaide United. Head coach Gary van Egmond has recruited thirteen new players to his squad this season and will look to play his possession-based style of football.
Van Egmond has recruited talented young players from across the country including James Brown, Adam Taggart, Craig Goodwin, Mark Birighitti and Scott Neville.
Undoubtedly the biggest name to join the Jets this season is Emile Heskey. With 62 matches for England and over 500 in the English Premier League, Heskey will without doubt make a massive impact at the Club.

The Jets have released customised ‘HESKEY 9- Home and Away playing strips, available in person and online through the Hunter Sports Superstore.
The customised 2012/13 authentic Jets Home and Away playing strip carries the HESKEY name and ‘9- playing number in the official Hyundai A-League font, as worn by the A-League teams.

Customise your Jets Strip
Don-t miss your opportunity to add your favourite player-s name to your 2012/13 Jets playing strip. For as little as $30 for Members or $40 for Non-Members, you can add a name and number to the rear of your strip in the official Hyundai A-League font, as worn by the A-League teams.
This service is available from the Hunter Sports Superstore and on match days at the dedicated merchandise outlet on the Western Concourse. Please note that demand for this service on match days is high, therefore we encourage Members and supporters to visit the Hunter Sports Superstore between 9-5 Monday to Friday, or 9-12 Saturday to have their name and number applied to their strip prior to the game.
We ask that those electing to have their name/number applied on match day are patient. Depending on demand, staff may ask that you return at half or full time to collect your completed customised strip.
Member Collections – Caps, Scarves, Junior Packs
The Newcastle Jets encourage Members to get behind the team by wearing their Member Caps to the first game. If you-re yet to collect your cap, scarf or junior pack, you can pick these up from the Hunter Sports Superstore between 9-5 Monday to Friday, and 9-12 Saturday. Remember, you MUST have your Membership Redemption Card/s in order to collect your inclusions.
If you can-t make it to the Hunter Sports Superstore prior to our first home game, Members can collect inclusions from the dedicated collection point on the ground floor of the Western Grandstand (behind the Western Ticket Boxes). Note that collections will not be from the traditional location on the Concourse level of the Western Grandstand. The collection point will close 15 minutes into the second half.
