An important message from the Hunter Sports Group to Newcastle Jets Members and supporters.

AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE HUNTER SPORTS GROUP TO NEWCASTLE JETS MEMBERS & SUPPORTERS

It is with great regret that I am writing to inform you of the Hunter Sports Group-s decision to hand back the Newcastle Jets A-League license to Football Federation Australia, effective immediately.

The Hunter Sports Group will not be fielding a team in the 2012/13 A-League competition and the Newcastle Jets will cease to operate under Hunter Sports Group ownership.

This is an extremely difficult decision that comes as a result of investing almost $12 million into the Jets over the last 18 months and experiencing an irreconcilable breakdown in our relationship with the FFA.

Unfortunately having lost confidence in the FFA management and their ability to find a resolution to a variety of critical issues, we have been left with no other choice.

To our 2011/12 Newcastle Jets Members, we thank you for the investment you have made into the club.

This decision has no impact on the Newcastle Knights and other Hunter Sports Group activities.

Kind Regards

Troy Palmer
CEO Hunter Sports Group
