The Newcastle Knights and Newcastle Jets teamed up with QR National on Monday to spread the rail safety message to the students of Edgeworth PS.

This was the first time the Jets have participated in the safety presentation aimed at keeping students away from railway tracks and to ‘stop, look, listen and think- whilst around railway crossings.

150 students attended the presentation and were very excited to meet Jets newcomer James Brown and Will Smith of the Knights under 20-s, who is also a former student of the school.

During the visit the students received Jets and Knights hats and a co-branded pencil case, containing a rail safety reminder.

So far the rail safety program has been presented to over 1600 students and on Tuesday will be taken to Muswellbrook South PS, which has been identified as a rail safety hotspot.
