Newcastle Jets coach Gary van Egmond has named an 18-man squad for Saturday’s game against Adelaide United at Coopers Stadium.
Jets Coach, Gary van Egmond, announced the 18-man squad that will travel to Adelaide to play Adelaide United.
He confirmed, other than the addition of Emile Heskey to the squad, the side remains unchanged from last week.
“Emile is definitely in the squad. We-ll try to keep some cards up our sleeve but he-ll definitely travel over to Adelaide,” he explained.
“You have to remember, Emile has missed a huge chunk of training and we-re four games in.
“It-s a long season so the most important thing is to make sure that Emile is going to get through this game, next game the following game and that he gets to play more regularly.”
Van Egmond reflected on last round-s two-all draw with the Central Coast Mariners.
“I think we were still a threat going forward, we matched up in midfield and put three at the back,” he said.
“We-re still very comfortable in the way that we did things. And we still created a number of chances from playing that way,” he said.
“I think this weekend will be a really good contest. I think both side will look to try and win the game. It should be really good for the fans and the viewers.”
