The Jets will travel to Wellington this weekend in the hope of putting an end to their two game losing streak.

It wasn-t the result that over 13,000 Members and supporters had hoped for with the Jets going down to Sydney FC 2-1 at Ausgrid Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

With that being said the Jets will make their second trip to Wellington this weekend in the hope of putting an end to their two game losing streak.

“On Friday night we have the opportunity to make a statement about our team,” Gary van Egmond said.

“There is no better place than Wellington for a team to say we are back.”

After getting off to a strong start on the weekend thanks to a brilliant strike by Jeremy Brockie, Sydney FC were too strong and came away with the win.

“We were undisciplined and there were times during the game where individuals decided to play their own game and it hurt us,” the coach added.

“For me what was disappointing was that there was a period in the first half where we were truly on top but we needed to put a few more goals away to win the game.”

One area van Egmond will look to improve for the Jets game against Wellington on Friday night is having someone playing alongside Francis Jeffers.

“I thought Francis did quite well but I think what we are going to have more people in contact with him,” he explained.

“I like playing in a certain system but I don-t think it is working at the moment and that is something we will look to change this week.”
