JETS TO HOST OPENING MATCH OF THE HYUNDAI A-LEAGUE SEASON

The Newcastle Jets will play host to the Melbourne Heart at Ausgrid Stadium in the opening game of the Hyundai A-League Season on Saturday October 8.

The Newcastle Jets will play host to the Melbourne Heart at Ausgrid Stadium in the opening game of the Hyundai A-League Season on Saturday October 8.

The Jets, who have been in pre-season training for several weeks, will be well prepared for the start to the season.

“With 27 games across the season and 13 of them to be played at what we plan to be our fortress, Ausgrid Stadium, I think that everyone can look forward to a great season with the Jets” said Jets CEO Robbie Middleby today.

The Jets will face their F3 rivals, the Central Coast Mariners, in round three on Sunday October 23 also at Ausgrid Stadium, and again on Saturday December 10 at Bluetongue Stadium.

“The rivalry between the Jets and Mariners is getting stronger and stronger and is one of the most anticipated match ups,- said Middleby.

Jets fans will also have the chance to spend New Year-s Eve with the team as they take on Perth Glory at Ausgrid Stadium from 4pm.

As with last season, the focus for the Newcastle Jets ticketing will be on families and making games affordable for everyone.
“We are very close to releasing a new Membership Campaign for the 2011/12 Season which will be affordable in their pricing and have some fantastic inclusions,” said Middleby.
The Draw also sees the Jets with nine of their 13 matches at home being held on a Saturday or Sunday, with only one match midweek. This match will coincide with the January school holidays.
