The Hunter Ports Newcastle Jets are pleased to announce The Duke of Wellington Hotel as the Club-s official post match venue.

As a key element of the partnership, Newcastle Jets players and Club officials will relax at The Duke after each home match, allowing further engagement with the local community and letting players mix with fans.

Jets CEO Robbie Middleby said the Jets were pleased to have The Duke of Wellington on board.

“As a Club, we want to be visible and accessible in our local community and partner with great local businesses,” Middleby said.

“The Duke of Wellington Hotel certainly fits the bill in that respect and we-re grateful for their continued support of the Newcastle Jets.”

The Duke of Wellington Hotel is steeped in tradition. Established in 1876, “The Duke”, as it is known, has entertained the Hunter community for over 134 years.

Located on Regent St in New Lambton, The Duke of Wellington Hotel is one of Newcastle’s premier hospitality venues offering a complete entertainment package.

The Duke of Wellington Hotel owner Stephen Smyth said forming a partnership with the Jets was an obvious choice for his business.

“The Duke is a football pub and we-re firmly behind the Jets and football in the Hunter Region,” Smyth said.

“We-ve been a player sponsor for Taylor Regan for the past couple of seasons so we-re delighted to increase our partnership with the Jets by becoming the Club-s official post match venue.”

The Duke of Wellington Hotel offers a free courtesy bus to and from all Newcastle Jets home matches at Hunter Stadium.
