The Newcastle Jets kicked off their post break pre-season with a trial match against Sutherland on Wednesday night. The Jets had a 2-1 win over Sutherland with goals to Vinny Faherty and Chris Payne.

Tarek Elrich led the Jets in their first trial since their first final off-season break. Sutherland proved very competitive, with scores level at half time in a match played in difficult conditions. New recruit Tiago Calvano made his debut for the Jets.
The Jets will play eight further trials in preparation for the A-League season. Details of the upcoming trials are shown below with further information including times will be published via the Jets website as soon as they are confirmed.
