After playing a number of pre-season games against local sides, this will be a chance for the Jets to gauge where they are at with less than two months until the 2011/12 Hyundai A-League season kicks off.
Not only is this the first hit out for the Jets against an A-League side, it is also an opportunity for the Jets to assess their Round 1 opponent of the season proper.
“The match will be a good experience for the squad and our coaching staff to gain a valuable insight into Melbourne-s playing style and form. Hopefully we-ll learn what to expect for the season ahead,” coach Branko Culina said.
Jason Culina, Kasey Wehrman and Chris Payne are among the Jets unavailable for this pre-season game against the Heart.
At this stage, Ben Kantarovski and Nikolai Topor-Stanley have been named in the team to travel to Victoria on Thursday.
