The prospect of restoring Newcastle Jets to a Hyundai A-League force today received a significant boost, with Australia’s largest network of paint stores, Inspirations Paint, recommitting as a major sponsor of the club for the third consecutive season.

The company, established in Newcastle in 1979 with five paint stores, now boasts more than 100 stores across Australia.

Head of Marketing at Inspirations Paint, Joel Goodsir, was excited at the opportunity to further their partnership with the Hunter’s A-League franchise.

“Inspirations Paint’s continued major sponsorship of the Newcastle Jets is a fantastic platform for the business to reach Australians in all of our store locations – from Newcastle to Nowra to Noosa,” Mr Goodsir said.

“Although Inspirations Paint has a national reach, we are proud of the organisation’s beginnings in Newcastle some 38 years ago and this partnership celebrates that heritage.”

Throughout the 2017/18 Hyundai A-League season, Inspirations Paint’s support of the Jets will be highly visible to football fans nationally, with the brand to feature on the front of the Jets’ gold away jersey and the white alternate jersey.

Additionally, Inspirations Paint will also appear on the back of the club’s blue home jersey, and the RAAF round jersey.

As part of this sponsorship, the brand will be personally sponsoring head coach, Ernie Merrick, and the technical area during home games.

Jets’ CEO, Lawrie McKinna, said that the club is thrilled to continue its ties with a locally based, strong national retailer.

“Inspirations Paint are eager to engage with football fans not only in Newcastle, but across Australia,” Mr McKinna said.

“They are a proactive sponsor with a love for the game and for fans nationwide.

“Their passion for football and our local community made the decision to partner with them a no-brainer.

“We’re looking forward to building on our partnership which has been developed over the last three seasons.”

The Jets and Inspirations Paint collaborated with highly regarded and well-known artist Mitch Revs, who used the sponsors paint to create a canvas to celebrate their 2017/18 season partnership.

The artwork features four Newcastle Jets players; Ronald Vargas, Nigel Boogaard, Roy O’Donovan and Andrew Nabbout.

The painting was completed live during the announcement with Roy and Andrew on hand to watch the canvas come to life.

“Today’s activation represents Inspirations Paint’s passion for peoples paint projects, but also the spirit in which we’re committed to work with Newcastle Jets,” Mr Goodsir added.

“We are passionate about our customer’s DIY painting projects but we’re also passionate about the club’s projects like defeating the Central Coast Mariners in the F3 Derby this weekend,” he said.

Inspirations Paint’s national Head Office is located at Warners Bay, near Newcastle.
