The Newcastle Jets are pleased to announce the signing of Mario Simic on a 1-year contract.
Simic, a product of the Newcastle Jets Youth League team has been a standout this season earning a promotion to the A-League side at the back-end of season 2010/2011.
Simic was pleased his hard work had paid off in securing the next season of his playing future.
“It is great to know that next season I have the opportunity to develop myself into an A-League player at the Newcastle Jets” Simic said.
Simic was further excited about the prospect of playing alongside the Jets new signing, current Socceroo Jason Culina.
“I would be rapt to play with Jason, I hope I get the opportunity but before that I just want to learn as much as I can from a player of his calibre,” said Simic.
Jets Chief Executive Officer John Tsatsimas was delighted for Simic to be rewarded for his hard work over the past 2 seasons with the Youth League team.
“Mario is a great story of a young man who has worked extremely hard on improving his game and has been duly rewarded,” said Tsatsimas.
“Mario has made the most of his opportunities and we look forward to seeing him progress further into a great player for our club” Tsatsimas added.
