Today the Newcastle Jets unveiled their highly anticipated 2011/12 strip which sees the return of Newcastle-s iconic colours, red and blue, the same colours worn by fellow Novocastrian representatives, the Newcastle Knights.

Captain Jobe Wheelhouse, midfielder Kasey Wehrman and defender Tiago Calvano proudly showed off the new kit at training today in preparation for their season opening game against Melbourne Heart, to be played at Ausgrid Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

“The Stadium is looking great and the strip has come up even better,” Wheelhouse said.

Wheelhouse and Calvano wore the home strip whilst Wehrman showed off the black and white away strip.

“The new strip looks great and very professional,” Wehrman added.

“I hope we can do it justice tomorrow against Heart.”

The player numbers on the back will be in gold.
