The Jets fell behind early in the first half to a strike from Edgeworth-s Joel Wood.
Koh Satake got Newcastle back on level terms when he dipped his left-footed free-kick over the Eagles- wall and into the back of the net in the dying stages of the first half.
Edgeworth regained the lead after the break when Zach Hill got to the ball first following an Eagles free-kick and finished sharply to make it 2-1.
The Jets applied plenty of pressure to the Edgeworth defence as they went in search of an equaliser, with Michael Finlayson striking a shot into the crossbar.
Eventually, the Jets were able to get back on level terms, when Radovan Pavicevic drove a powerful strike into the top corner of the net from outside the penalty area.
The Jets currently sit in eighth place on the NBN State League ladder with six competition points. They take on reigning Champions Broadmeadow Magic at Wanderers Oval on Sunday.
