Goals for Grassroots was initiated by Hyundai Motor Company Australia to support the growth of football in Australia by nurturing the game at its grassroots level. It offers support to local clubs across the country by providing funding in the areas they need it the most.
Hyundai is proud to be supporting football across all levels – from the FIFA World Cup to the local Hyundai A-League down to grassroots clubs – with the Goals for Grassroots programme having already donated over $230,000 to worthy grassroots clubs around Australia.
During each round of the Hyundai A-League Season 7, Goals for Grassroots offers one local grassroots club the chance to earn much needed additional club funding. For each round, one home game is selected with the local grassroots club receiving an initial $1000 donation guaranteed. This can be bolstered with an additional $1000 donated by Hyundai for each additional goal the home team scores in that match (up to a maximum $5000 in a single match).
Local and community based clubs can apply for selection and the chance to receive much needed additional funding by completing an on-line application submitting why their club should receive support from the Goals for Grassroots programme during Season 7 of the Hyundai A-League.
