Players from the Coal & Allied Newcastle Knights and the Newcastle Jets visited John Hunter Children’s Hospital today to help celebrate 15 years of services and treatment to children suffering with serious illness in the Hunter.

The players joined forces with hospital staff, family and friends of the JHCH to bring some much needed smiles to the lives of many children who are currently receiving treatment at the facility.

In attendance were Knights players Ben Rogers, Shannon McDonnell, Junior Sa’u and Wes Naiqama, along with Newcastle Jets CEO Robbie Middleby and players, Ben Kantarovski, Kasey Wehrman and Daniel Laiman.

Both the Knights and the Jets have been longstanding and immensely proud supporters of the John Hunter Children’s Hospital and will join in the celebrations by helping to cut the cake and spread some cheer throughout the ward.

After taking part in the celebrations the players made their way to the wards where they visited patients too sick to leave their beds to join in on the fun.
