Round 10 of the Hyundai A-League is highlighted by Saturday-s F3 derby between the Central Coast Mariners and the Newcastle Jets.
Fierce rivals on the pitch, there is probably ever-greater feeling between the two set of supporter groups.
A quick check of the statistical history of clashes between the Clubs indicated just what a close rivalry exists between the protagonists, with both Clubs having secured eight victories and shared eight draws in the 24 fixtures to date.
That alone suggests a close encounter is on the cards, as does current form, with the Mariners sitting in second sport on the league table, and the Jets tucked cosily in fourth position.
This will be a fierce and passionate contest.
Elsewhere in the league, all eyes will be on Brisbane, to see if they can bounce back against the Heart. Wellington host Perth in the world-s geographically most distant domestic derby and Sydney travel to the struggling Gold Coast.
Finally Melbourne Victory host Adelaide in a real potential banana-skin game. If the Victory fail to beat to this point the mediocre Reds, the blame game will be ramped up in the media to even greater levels.
