Newcastle Jets will play its first home match of the Hyundai A-League 2015/16 season this Saturday 17 October against New South Wales rivals Sydney FC. Kick-off at Hunter Stadium is at 5:15pm.
Scott Miller’s Jets recorded a round 1 win on the road against Wellington Phoenix on Sunday, while Graham Arnold’s Sky Blues were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Melbourne City on Saturday night.
Last time the Jets and Sydney met was in the penultimate round of last Hyundai A-League season – a seven-goal thriller that Sydney FC narrowly won 4-3.
Both teams have experienced significant change in personnel since April, and a rejuvenated Newcastle team flush with fresh faces will seek to defeat last season’s Hyundai A-League runners-up.
