Works to repair the damaged turf at EnergyAustralia Stadium will commence on Tuesday.

Hunter Venues, through the assistance of the NSW Government, have committed to replacing 4200m2 of the Stadium turf extensively damaged after a SuperX event on the 16th of October.

They also advised that a longer term solution will ensure that the Stadium is in its best possible state for the Jets fixtures over the coming months, and also a solution that benefits the broader use of the facility into the future for the Knights, Jets, and a range of community need.

Hunter Venues have secured 4200m2 of StaLok the same turf used at Melbourne's AAMI Park. A specialised sports turf, StaLok allows for a quick turnaround from laying to playing through incorporation of UV resistant fibres within the profile beneath the turf. StaLok also provides additional load bearing capacity to the surface.

Hunter Venues chairman, Ted Atchison, stated "Our expert advice suggests that once laid, the surface will be suitable for play within a couple of days. The ground will be ready for the Jets November 13 fixture - a highly desirable outcome for all parties". He added "We are also committed to ensuring a rigorous ongoing maintenance regime accompanies the installation of the new turf to maintain the elite standard expected of the facility".

Removal of the damaged turf will commence on Tuesday, with the installation of the StaLok turf planned for Wednesday and Thursday.
