Newcastle Jets 2011/12 Donations Policy

The Newcastle Jets frequently receive requests for donations and/or assistance and we do our best to support as many of these as possible.

General Information

The Newcastle Jets frequently receive requests for donations and/or assistance and we do our best to support as many of these as possible. Priority is given to our nominated charity partners and to organisations or individuals that complement the objectives of the Jets Community Program.

Currently, the Newcastle Jets charitable support is limited to the provision of merchandise and player appearances. Requests for financial support should be directed to the Tinkler Foundation.

In Season 2011/12, our nominated charity partners are:
• Ronald McDonald House, John Hunter Hospital
• Starlight Foundation, Hunter Branch

The Jets donate:
• A variety of Jets Merchandise (e.g. signed shirts, caps, footballs)
• Match Day ticketing
• Player appearances (refer to the Newcastle Jets Player Appearance Policy)

The Jets do not donate:
• Cash or other types of funding support

How to Apply

To be considered for a donation package from the Newcastle Jets:
1. Submit a request using the application form on the Newcastle Jets website.
Requests can be submitted by email to info@newcastlejets.com.au or mail to:

2. For requests that involve events, applications must be submitted at least eight (8) weeks prior to the event date.
3. Applications must detail the authenticity of the fundraising activity and the organisation or individuals support for football and the Newcastle Jets
4. If you are fundraising on behalf of a charity, please also provide a letter of support from the charity detailing their approval of your event/activity and authority to fundraise on their behalf.

Application guidelines:
• We recommend that your event or fundraising initiative does not focus solely on the anticipation of a donation; instead the donation should be used as an added ‘bonus- to your event or fundraiser.
• A key criteria for consideration of a donation is an applicant-s support for football and the Newcastle Jets. Please ensure this requirement is adequately addressed in the application form.
• Requests that are submitted without using the online application form will not be accepted and will not be responded to
• All decisions are final and at the sole discretion of the Newcastle JetsCommunity Committee

Application Process:
• Applications will be responded to in writing within six (6) weeks from receipt of the application
• Donations are limited to one (1) per organisation per year (except for nominated charity partners) so donations are shared among various charities
• Donated merchandise must only be used for the purpose on the application. Donation merchandise is not to be used for online auctions or personal gain.
• The Newcastle Jets reserve the right to determine the type of donation
• Requests that are submitted without using the online application form will not be accepted and will not be responded to
• Absolutely NO items are to be sent to the Jets- Offices for signing without prior approval. Any items sent without prior approval will not be signed and will not be returned
• Successful applicants shall provide feedback to the Newcastle Jets on the outcome of the donation and how it helped their activities. Specific reporting requirements will be detailed in correspondence received by applicants with their donation package.
