They will attend their final training camp at the Australian Institute of Canberra (AIS) this week, 9th – 14th May, 2011.
Qantas Olyroos Head Coach Aurelio Vidmar and Qantas Young Socceroos Head Coach Jan Versleijen have announced the pair as part of a joint 31 player squad that has begun their final preparations today, before taking part in respective international matches in the lead up to the 2012 London Olympic Games Asian Qualifiers and FIFA U-20 World Cup Colombia 2011.

“It is a great reward for Marko and James. The whole Jets team and management, together with the Hunter Sports Group, congratulate them,” said Rob Middleby, CEO Newcastle Jets.

“It-s a great way to start the week,” he said.

Jets and Olyroo attacker Marko Jesic is very pleased with his efforts within the squad so far.

“The training camps have been a really good chance to get all of the squad together and get our fitness back to its best level,” stated Marko Jesic.

“It-s important that we get the most out of our time together in Canberra this week as we have to make sure we-re fully prepared for the important matches coming up in June, which we-re all pretty excited about,” said Jesic.

The Qantas Olyroos will travel to Japan to face the Japanese U-23 National team in a friendly match in Niigata while the Qantas Young Socceroos will take part in the Terborg Tournament in Europe in June.

The Qantas Olyroos will then take on Yemen in the second round of the 2012 London Olympic Games Asian Qualifiers on the 19th and 23rd June 2011 at a venue to be determined. The Young Socceroos team will compete at the FIFA U-20 World Cup Columbia 2011 from the 29th July with the final to be held on the 20th August, 2011.
