Statement from the Newcastle Jets regarding Saturday night’s clash with Western Sydney Wanderers at Hunter Stadium.
The Newcastle Jets are awaiting a report from Hunter Venues relating to an alleged incident involving a small section of fans and police that took place following the conclusion of Saturday-s game against Western Sydney Wanderers at Hunter Stadium.
Hunter Venues control the security and policing of all events at the Stadium and the Club work closely with fan groups, the Stadium, security and police to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all spectators at Newcastle Jets home matches.
Saturday night-s match attracted the Jets- biggest home crowd of the season of 16,634.
The overwhelming majority of these spectators were extremely well behaved and contributed to what was a fantastic atmosphere inside Hunter Stadium.
