The Newcastle Jets hosted case workers and clients from Wesley Mission at the Round 14 match against Melbourne Victory.

The Newcastle Jets’ home match against Melbourne Victory in Round 14 was a closely fought draw, however for some special guests the scoreline was less important than the overall opportunity to attend a Jets game.

Case workers and clients from Wesley Mission, Newcastle, were hosted in the Jets ‘charity’ box and watched the match in style. Wesley Mission selected the clients who enjoy soccer or follow the Jets.

“The effect this had on staff and our clients is amazing, and that is what they talked about on Monday and still today.” Regional Manager Len Grahame said.

“Listening to the clients this week is worth thousands of dollars; how a fantastic offer made them feel a valued member of society, as they were made to feel special by the Jets.”

Wesley Mission, Newcastle, has been an integral part of our community for more than 65 years, and it provides support and services for people with a range of complex issues from homelessness, drug and alcohol addiction and childhood abuse to family breakdown, unemployment, disability and social isolation.

The Newcastle Jets is proud to support local organisations and charities who work tirelessly in our region to ensure the welfare and well-being of others.
