It was fitting that Newcastle Jets skipper Nigel Boogaard, whose father Michael also played in the NSL, made history by netting the 20,000th goal in national leagues’ history on Sunday.
Boogaard got his team back in the game against Western Sydney Wanderers by notching the Jets’ first late on to make it 2-1 at Spotless Stadium in their Round 3 clash on Sunday.
