Newcastle Jets custodian Mark Birighitti has declared that he is “enjoying his football more than ever” as the Club continues to prepare for its Hyundai A-League 2015/16 campaign.Speaking with local media on Monday morning following the team’s jovial, spirited training session at iconic Nobbys Beach, Birighitti said the environment that has been created at the Club ahead of Hyundai A-League season 11 is the best he’s been a part of since arriving in the Hunter from Adelaide in 2012.
“To be honest with you I am enjoying my football more than ever now,” Birighitti said. “With the new faces at the Club, the new coaches, it’s great.”
“There’s a great feeling amongst the group, [and] not only the group but also the Club itself.”
“I am really enjoying my football and being back in Newcastle, and am just really looking forward to this coming season.”
Birighitti added that he knows his teammates share his faith in the direction that the Club, and team, is headed.
“We’re definitely on the right track and the players are buying into what they’re [the coaches] saying,” he said.
“All the boys have a lot of faith in what they are trying to do.
“They are great coaches and what they are trying to implement in sessions and in games it’s slowly, slowly paying off.
“We’re on the right path but we still have a long way to go.
“I am just feeling really positive about this season. I’m really happy and in the right mindset at the moment.”
