NEWS: Date set for Jets’ FFA Cup clash

Football Federation Australia today announced the upcoming Match Details for the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32.

Newcastle Jets will battle defending Westfield FFA Cup Champions Melbourne Victory at Magic Park, Broadmeadow, on Wednesday 3 August. Kick-off will be at 7:30pm, and ticketing details will be released soon.

Newcastle Jets Chief Executive Officer, Mr Lawrie McKinna, said that the club is happy with the date given to the Jets by FFA, and explained that other matches are being scheduled around the club’s knock-out contest.

“Now that we have details of our Westfield FFA Cup game against Melbourne Victory locked in we will be able to announce more information regarding our pre-season plans soon,” McKinna said.

“We are moving to an advanced stage regarding our pre-season planning, and in the coming week to ten days will be able to share information with Jets Members and fans regarding our schedule.”

“We are likely to play one game which will be open to the public in Newcastle before we take on Victory in early August, so supporters should keep an eye out for that,” he said.

Northern NSW side Edgeworth Eagles FC will take on FNQ Heat FC at the end of the month on Wednesday 27 July at Barlow Park, Cairns. Kick off will be at 7:30pm.

Lambton Jaffas FC, also representing Northern NSW, will travel to Tasmania to play Devonport Strikers FC on Wednesday 10 August. This game will kick-off at 7:30pm at Valley Road, Devonport.
