Newcastle Jets players Jason Hoffman and Aleksandr Kokko were treated an afternoon in the air on Monday.

The duo were welcomed aboard Fly Pelican’s inaugural flight from Newcastle Airport (NTL) to Coffs Harbour Airport (CFS) – and back – as the local airline launched its fresh 45-minute route.

Newcastle Jets will play Melbourne City in Coffs Harbour on Friday 27 January 2017 at C.ex Coffs International Stadium.

Tickets are available here.

Flights between Newcastle and Coffs Harbour with Fly Pelican start at just $99 one-way and are available here.

“It’s going to be a great trip to Coffs Harbour in January, not only for the team, but hopefully many fans come from Newcastle, too,” Hoffman said after disembarking at CFS.

“Obviously Melbourne City is playing some fantastic football at the moment, so it’s not only encouraging news for Coffs Harbour locals and Newcastle people to come see us, but also for people to come and see a quality Melbourne City team.”

Hoffman also confirmed that he will return to full training this week as he looks to push for a place in the Jets squad to challenge Western Sydney Wanderers at Spotless Stadium on Sunday.

“I should be fit for this week and obviously I have a battle on my hands to get back in the team this week,” he said.

Newcastle Jets has started the Hyundai A-League 2016/17 Season with a 1-1 draw against reigning competition Champions Adelaide United and a 4-0 win over last season’s preliminary finalists Brisbane Roar.
