Newcastle Jets players, coaches and staff visited Ledman Group’s Headquarters in Shenzhen, China on Wednesday as guests of the Club’s Chairman and Owner, Mr Martin Lee.

The Jets’ squad listened to speeches from key Ledman Group staff and viewed a video explaining Ledman Group’s operations in order to give them a deeper understanding of the company’s diverse business profile.

After the presentations the squad took a tour of Ledman Group’s ground floor showroom alongside Mr Lee and his staff, received a traditional Chinese gift from Ledman Group, and took time to get a group photo to mark the Club’s first pre-season visit to China.

“I am very happy to see our team in China, in Shenzhen,” Mr Lee said. “I think that they all have a very nice day in China. They have had victories in their past two matches [and] Ledman Group’s members all enjoyed that.”

“I think that Ledman Group’s Headquarters would be very fresh to all Newcastle Jets members. We are a high-tech company and Ledman Group has many, many football elements in our building, so maybe that will be very fresh for all players.”

Mr Lee watched Newcastle Jets live for the first time since purchasing the Club from Football Federation Australia (FFA) in June on Wednesday as Scott Miller’s side defeated the reigning Hong Kong Premier League Champions Eastern SC 2-1.

Lee will be at the Bao’an Stadium in Shenzhen again on Friday as the Jets play the third and final match on the club’s pre-season tour of China against Kitchee SC, who also hail from Hong Kong.

On Saturday the Jets will visit Lee’s industrial headquarters in Huizhou City in what will be a dual promotional day alongside his other professional club, Shenzhen Renren FC.

“On Saturday morning there will be a very big carnival in our Ledman Industrial Park,” Lee explained. “There will be over 600 people there and this is a very good event for football culture, bringing together the local community. I am looking forward to enjoying this event.”
